The woman who died in a Kentford house fire last Friday has been named as 50-year-old Anne Guinle.

As reported, more than 55 firefighters from two counties battled for more than six hours to put out the fire, which started in her one-storey home in Gazeley Road at about 9am on Friday.

Mrs Guinle’s body was found by fire cews, while a man aged in his 60s was rescued from the building and treated for smoke inhalation at West Suffolk Hospital, Bury St Edmunds. He was later released.

An inquest into her death will open and adjourn at 2pm today. A full inquest will be held at a later date.

Investigations into the cause of her death are continuing, but police said there were not treating it as suspicious at this time.
