Woman’s handbag stolen by thief on pushbike

Police in Newmarket are appealing for information following a robbery in Newmarket on Friday.

A 33-year-old woman was walking along a footpath in Victoria Way when she was approached from behind by a person on a pushbike between 5.15pm and 5.30pm.

The person grabbed her handbag from her shoulder before cycling off.

They were riding a dark-coloured mountain bike and wearing a dark hooded top, with green stripes running down the arms, and blue jeans.

The bronze-coloured leather handbag contained an iPhone, iPad, dark green wallet containing cash and a passport.
