Woman bitten by dog in attack in Newmarket

Police are appealing for information after a woman was bitten by a dog in Newmarket.

The incident - which was reported to police on Saturday - happened between 7.20am and 7.40am on Tuesday, March 18.

A 41 year woman was walking her dog along what is described as a grassy area between Greville Starkey Avenue and Elliot Close, when they were approached by a black dog which was not on a lead. The dog started to attack the woman’s dog at which point she picked her dog up. The offending dog then bit her on her arm causing three puncture wounds.

The person who is believed to have been with the dog is described as 5’10 – 6’ tall, of medium build, with dark hair. The dog was black with a ridge along its back.
