The 2nd Newmarket Scout Group is celebrating after one of its members won the highest Cub Scout honour.
William Turkentine, 10, of Icknield Close, Cheveley, has been presented with the Chief Scout’s Silver Award.
The Cheveley Primary School pupil completed six challenges to win the award, which included learning first aid, playing football for the under-11 White Newmarket team, camping, raising money for charity and learning about other cultures.
William’s mother, Tina, said: “It’s quite a rare achievement. You have to go over and above the normal Scout badges.”
