WEATHER: Suffolk roads largely running clear

SUFFOLK’S A and B roads, main bus and commuter routes are now largely running clear following 24 hours of ploughing and gritting by Suffolk County Council.

Using additional resources, the council was also able to treat roads and footways in shopping areas in Suffolk’s larger towns.

In some cases, the gritters cleared roads around schools to help them remain open this morning.

Farmers were also mobilised to clear roads in rural areas.

Road users are still being advised to proceed with caution and not to assume that a road is free of ice, even if treated.
