WEATHER: Gritters out as more snow predicted

SUFFOLK County Council’s gritting teams have been out treating the roads as experts predict more snowfall and freezing conditions this evening into tomorrow.

Teams began treating the roads at around 2pm this afternoon, gritting A and B roads, followed by bus routes and other main roads.

A council spokesman said gritters were on standby at the council’s road salt depots ready to grit Suffolk’s A roads throughout the night, if necessary.

He continued: “Road conditions may be difficult during this period, even on treated roads, so road users are advised to take extreme care.”
