Water bowser stolen from a Newmarket cemetary

Police are appealing for witnesses after a water bowser worth £3,000 was stolen from a cemetery in Newmarket.

The theft occurred between 4pm on Wednesday, February 27, and 9am the following day at the High Street cemetery.

The offenders broke in through the cemetery gates and forced the clamp and hitch-lock that the bowser was secured with.

The green water bowser had a large board fitted to the back with orange and yellow chevrons painted on.

This is the second theft in just over a week at the cemetery, after other items were stolen sometime between Tuesday, February 19, and Thursday, February 21.

A red Honda WX10 water pump and a yellow heavy duty hose pipe, worth a combined total of approximately £450, were stolen.

Anyone with information in relation to these crimes should contact PC Lee Sampher at Newmarket Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
