Isleham’s new £1.5 million state-of-the-art community centre The Beeches opened its door to the public for the first time earlier this month.

The project has been awarded grants including £152,000 from The Football Foundation and £50,000 from Sport England and as well as becoming a hub for the village is expected to be a centre for its sports groups, including home to Isleham’s sixteen football teams and the cricket club.

Facilities include a licensed bar and café, hall with stage, meeting rooms, outdoor play area and sports changing facilities.

Isleham resident and
centre manager Louise
Hounsome was on hand to welcome villagers to the open weekend.

“After the vision and tireless dedication over six years of those within the village and parish council who have turned a dream into a reality, it is so exciting that we can proudly show off our fantastic centre to everyone.

Bookings are now
being taken for parties, weddings, and regular group meetings, and an official opening is being planned for next year.
