UPDATE: Man from Newmarket area arrested in connection with armed robbery

A man has been arrested in relation to an armed robbery at a petrol service station on the A14, near Newmarket.

The man, who is from the Newmarket area, was arrested earlier today (Monday), on suspicion of robbery and is currently in custody at the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre.

Police were called to the scene at about 12.35am on Friday.

Anyone who was in the area and saw any suspicious activity, or has information in relation to this incident is asked to call Bury St Edmunds CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
