Two people were taken to hospital after a two-car crash in Newmarket this morning.

Emergency services were called to Duchess Drive at about 8.48am, where a green Volkswagen Polo had been in collision with a black Vauxhall Corsa.

One person was trapped in one of the vehicles before being freed by firefighters.

A spokeswoman for the East of England Ambulance Service said two people were taken to hospital, one to Addenbrooke’s and one to West Suffolk, but neither were thought to have life-threatening injuries.

The vehicles were recovered by 9.45am.
