A car was in collision with a lorry on the A142 Fordham Road yesterday, causing heavy traffic.

Emergency services were called to the incident, which happened just off the A14 at Exning, at about 4.55pm.

A Suffolk Police spokesman said a woman had suffered head injuries, while a man had sustained injuries to his chest.

Ambulance and fire crews were also at the scene, including a rapid response vehicle, ambulance and paramedic officer.

Duty manager Andy Bates said: “There were three casualties in the car who were all walking wounded and discharged at the scene.

“We felt that the patient in the lorry required further assessment so they were conveyed to West Suffolk General Hospital as a precaution.”
