Town team players get their kit off

Eleven members of Newmarket Town’s current first team squad have ditched their kit to help raise funds for the club by posing for a new calendar.

The players, together with joint-manager Kevin Grainger, decided to take on the challenge to boost funds for the club’s youth section.

Among those taking part were striker Aaron Turner, left-back Ricky Cornish and centre-midfielder Luke Butcher.

“We had a ladies’ night at the club in December and following on from that I suggested to Kevin (Grainger) that the lads should do a naked calendar,” said Nikki Ashwell, organiser.

“It took a couple of weeks to persuade the lads to get it sorted but they came around to it in the end.

“They were all extremely well behaved and they all had a lot of fun doing it. Thanks has to go to Newmarket fancy dress shop Fancy Pants which provided several of the props.”

The calendar, which is A3 size, costs £5.

It can be purchased by contacting Nikki on 07787717228 or by emailing her on nik.21ash@googlemail.com.
