A Newmarket voluntary group, providing activities for local youngsters with additional needs, has re-launched at a new venue.
Kidzone was originally set up in 2001 with two of its founders, Jill Voss and Jan Stiff, still involved.
Securing a venue for the club and its diverse activities has always been an issue, as has finding somewhere with storage for the group’s equipment. But on Thursday club members were celebrating finding a new home at the town’s memorial hall.
And the celebration was completed with the presentation of £600 each from two Newmarket district councillors, Warwick Hirst and Michael Anderson, from their council locality budgets.
The money will be used to buy new equipment and provide outings for the children.
The group now meets on Thursdays, during term time, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, with activities arranged during the school holidays.
