Fresh from the family’s success in breeding dual Derby winner Australia, Peter Stanley and his wife Frances, hosted a fund raising dinner for the new National Heritage Centre for Horse Racing and Sporting Art, currently under construction at Palace House in Newmarket, at their New England Stud on Thursday.

One of the highlights of
the evening was parade of mares and foals from the
stud.

These included Ruby Rocket with her filly foal by
Exceed and Excel, a half
sister to Group 1 winning sprinter Maarek; Demerger, dam of triple Group 1 winning sprinter, Sole Power, with her foal by Sepoy; Victoire Finale, dam of this year’s Oaks third Volume with her foal by
Fastnet Rock and Superstar Leo, champion two year old sprinter, bred by Lester Piggott with her filly foal by Frankel.

Among the guests at dinner were Channel 4 Racing presenter Emma Spencer, Mike Cattermole, trainer Marco Botti, Darley’s John Ferguson and Sam Bullard and former Godolphin spokesman, Simon Crisford, who recently announced his intention to set up as a trainer.
