NEWMARKET JOURNAL FEB 2011. Annie Taylor who has lost 107lb with Weightwatchers

A MOTHER-of-three from Newmarket dropped six dress sizes in 13 months - the best result in her slimming group’s history.

Annie Taylor, of Aurole Walk, was determined to lose weight after she became pregnant with her third child and joined a Weight Watchers group at Exning Road Working Men’s Club.

She weighed 18st 4.5lbs in January, 2011, and lost 7.5st, or 107lbs, reaching her target weight of 10st 9.5lbs.

Mrs Taylor, 36, said dropping five dress sizes from a 22/24 to a size 12 was “a massive achievement”.

She said: “In July I had lost about four stone and I noticed the difference myself and other people starting noticing. It wasn’t until then that I thought I could do this. When you are only losing one or two pounds a week it can get a bit disheartening at times.

As well as using the Weight Watchers points system, Mrs Taylor walked her children, seven-year-old William, Austin, five, and Harry, 16 months, to and from Exning Primary School everyday.

“When you are overweight you are not treated the best. People judge you and treat you like a second class citizen because you are large.

“I was pregnant with my third child and I thought I’m not going to be like this anymore.”

Elisha Jordan, Weight Watchers group leader, said: “I run five groups and I’ve mentioned Annie in all of them and we’ve been following her progress. She has just been an inspiration to the others in the group and the change is just amazing.”
