Shooting centre plans temporary clubhouse

PROPOSALS have been drawn up for the creation of a temporary clubhouse at a clay target shooting centre that was destroyed by arsonists.

Back in December, the Lakenheath Clay Centre had its clubhouse completely destroyed in the blaze.

Plans to restore the site, which is to be used as a training ground for this summer’s London Olympics, to its former state are now moving forward following the submission of the proposal to Forest Heath District Council by owner Peter Usher.

Should the scheme, which was submitted at the end of last month, get the green light, it would see the creation of a temporary clubhouse, toilets, catering facilities and a hot food trailer at the Brandon Road complex.
