Second accident in a fortnight at A14 slip road
A14 crash on junction near the Bottisham flyover on the old Cambridge Road.
Three people were hospitalised following a crash at the same spot which claimed the life of a Newmarket woman just 12 days earlier.
The latest incident happened just off the A1303 slip road to the A14 at Nine Mile Hill at about 7.30am on Tuesday.
Three women were injured in the collision, which involved a silver Ford Focus and a green Fiat Punto.
Police sealed off the slip road on to the westbound carriageway while emergency services worked at the scene.
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service sent four vehicles to the scene and used specialist cutting equipment to remove the roof of the Fiat, which crashed into a ditch, and released the women who were trapped inside.
They were taken to hospital by ambulance but a spokesman for Cambridgeshire Police said they escaped with only minor injuries. The road was cleared by 9.40am.
On the morning of January 17, Heather Panter, 31 of All Saints Road, died instantly when the black Ford Focus she was a passenger in was involved in a collision with three lorries at the same spot.
