Safety warning
A fire service has advised homeowners to have their chimneys swept and inspected after chimney fires started in Burwell and Swaffham Bulbeck.
Firefighters were called to a fire at home in North Street, Burwell, at about 9.30am on Thursday.
One crew from Burwell extinguished the flames using chimney rods and specialist equipment.
Meanwhile, another chimney fire started in Quarry Lane, Swaffham Bulbeck, at 5.30pm on Wednesday.
Firefighters had the blaze under control just over one hour later.
A Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said the cause of both fires were accidental.
She added: “Please ensure that you get your chimney swept and the brickwork inspected at least once a year. This will help to prevent a chimney fire.”
