A new reflective garden area has been unveiled at Newmarket’s All Saints’ Primary School. Diocesan schools’ advisor, Helen Matter, was at the Vicarage Road school on Tuesday to perform the opening, with help from 11-year-old pupils Ebonie Chapman and Jordan Fowler.
The garden mirrors an area for quiet thought and prayer which already exists inside the school.
It contains seating, murals painted by pupils and a vegetable and herb garden planted by the school’s gardening club.
There are also two outdoor xylophones, bought with money won by a pupil in a music competition.
Lanterns bearing the names of every pupil hang in the garden’s horse chestnut tree.
