Generous schoolchildren in Newmarket baked up some delicious treats to raise more than £200 for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

Houldsworth Valley Primary School, in Rowley Drive, raised £230.83 on Friday by dressing up in red and holding a cake stall.

The event was part of the BHF’s Ramp Up the Red initiative, which saw fundraisers across the UK dress up in red to boost funds for research into heart disease.

Anyone who took part in Ramp Up the Red can upload their pictures on the official website by visiting www.rampupthered.org.uk.
