The life of late racing trainer Sir Henry Cecil is to be showcased in a special exhibition over five racing days at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile.

Artefacts and photographs from the former Newmarket trainer’s Warren Place home will be put on display in the Millennium Grandstand for the two day Guineas meeting on May 3 and 4, and for the three-day Spring meeting on May, 15, 16, 17.

Included in the exhibition, which follows on from an initial exhibition staged at Ascot during last year’s
Qipco British Champions Day, is the medal he presented by the Queen when he was knighted, and pictures depicting his life from his early years through to the end of his career.

“Sir Henry was loved by everyone who visited Newmarket Racecourses. There was a shared affection between Sir Henry and the racecourse,” said Amy Starkey, Newmarket Racecourses boss.

“We thought our visitors would really appreciate it if we held our own tribute where they can share the life and times of the late and great Sir Henry Cecil.”
