A concert organised by Newmarket Town Band and All Saints Church has raised more than £7,000 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

The 10th Anniversary Last Night of the Proms concert was held in September in
the historic Tattersalls sale ring.

The programme covers a wide range of musical taste, with something for everyone. Highlights include Tom Jones hits, and a rendition of Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines; as well as the old classics, Jerusalem and Auld Lang Syne when the audience members was encouraged to sing along.

Air ambulance fundraising co-ordinator, Meg Davies, said: “We are enormously grateful to the Newmarket Town Band and All Saints Church for hosting this fabulous event.

“The organising team have managed to obtain a large amount of sponsorship from local business which meant that every penny raised at the concert goes directly to the East Anglian Air Ambulance which is entirely dependent on local fundraising.

“Events like this one really do help to save lives in East Anglia.”
