Police launch appeal after arson attack in Ousden on straw stack

Police are appealing for witnesses after a straw stack was deliberately set alight in Ousden, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage.

The incident occurred at around 12.20am on Saturday in Dalham Road.

About 100 tonnes of straw stored in a Dutch barn was destroyed, with an estimated value of £6,000. In the region of £3,000 of damage was also caused to the barn.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact PC Rupert Beynon at Haverhill Police Station on 101, quoting reference HH/14/460, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
