Residents in Newmarket received the chance to quiz Suffolk police chief Tim Passmore and Chief Constable Douglas Paxton in the town on Friday.

Mr Paxton, and Mr Passmore, who is Police and Crime Commissioner for Suffolk, visited the town as part of their Chief and PCC tour around the county, which has also seen them take in visits to Bury St Edmunds, Eye, Lowestoft and Ipswich.

The two set up a base outside the Guineas Shopping Centre, where they were joined by representatives from the Newmarket Safer Neighbourhood Team, crime reduction officers, Suffolk Safekey promoters and members of the constabulary’s volunteer team.

“It has been great to hear some really positive feedback from people coming to meet us at these events so far,” said Mr Paxton.

“It has been so encouraging to hear that the majority of people who have had cause to call upon their local officers have been extremely pleased with the service they have received.”
