Pensioner punch in the face by yob
AN 85-YEAR-old pensioner was punched in the face by two would-be robbers as she was walking along a footpath.
Two young men, one a teenager, jumped out in front of the woman near a duck pond on the footpath in Soham's Paddock Street.
One of the men searched her coat pockets while the other kept watch along the path.
After finding nothing in her pockets, the first man punched the woman before both men ran away.
The victim suffered slight injuries to her face following the attack.
The incident happened at 5.30pm on November 26 and was reported to the police four days later.
Det Con Gary Loth, investigating, said: "We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the robbery or these two men in the area at the time.
"This was a very nasty attack on a vulnerable woman and any information, no matter how small, could help to bring the offenders to justice."
The first man is described as around 20 years old, 6ft tall and of a stocky build. He was wearing a dark, long-sleeved hooded top, dark trousers and a dark scarf covering his face.
The second was aged about 16, 5ft 2in tall and of slim build. He was wearing a dark hooded top and jeans.
Anyone with information should contact Dc Loth at Parkside Police Station, Cambridge, on 0345 456 456 4 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
