Young road safety officers from Newmarket’s All Saints School have been doing their bit for a school campaign to improve a pedestrian crossing close to the town’s clock tower.

Frankie Purr, Larry Milbank and Sheneil Crawford, pictured above, have carried out their own survey of the courtesy crossing as part of a school project aimed at making it safer. Christine Littlewood who is helping co-ordinate the effort , said: “We don’t feel the crossing is very safe and think it could be better marked and have better lighting.” The school has contacted two local councillors, Warwick Hirst and Lisa Chambers with its concerns.
