Newmarket nights: Keane to headline summer concert
Multi-million selling rock band Keane were today named as one of the headliners for the Adnams Newmarket Nights at Newmarket Racecourses.
The band will perform at the July Course on Friday, August 9.
Keane have sold over ten million albums worldwide and garnered many awards including two BRiTS, an Ivor Novello and three Q Awards, and have become one of the biggest British bands in the world. They recently achieved their fifth consecutive Number 1 album with the release of Strangeland in 2012.

Keane were formed in 1997 and the band comprises vocalist Tom Chaplin, Tim Rice-Oxley on keyboards, Richard Hughes on drums and Jesse Quin on bass.
Amy Starkey, regional director of Jockey Club Racecourses, said: “We are very excited about having Keane at Adnams Newmarket Nights this summer and I’m sure our spectators will be delighted with the concert.
“It is going to be a superb evening of horse racing and music, and I’m sure many thousands of the band’s fans will be with us on Friday 9 August.”
Adnams Newmarket Nights attracted audiences totaling over 100,000 last year –and another total attendance well into six figures is expected over seven dates this summer.
Other headliners include Madness (19 July) and the Kaiser Chiefs (2 August). The four remaining artists will be announced in coming weeks.
Mcfly will perform at the July Course on Saturday, August 24, as part of Summer Saturdays, along with the double bill of The Saturdays and Lawson who will take to the stage on June 8.
