New-look sports centre opens its doors
BOTTISHAM Sports Centre has officially re-opened after a £60,000 revamp.
Part-funded by Cambridgeshire County Council, the work took six weeks to complete and included improvements to the fitness suite, swimming pool, gymnasium and changing rooms.
On hand to cut the ribbon was World, European and British triathlete champion Juliette Vickery, who lives in nearby Reach.
Heidi Kempster, business manager at the centre, said: "We are really pleased at how the day went as there was such a wide spectrum of people who came through the doors."
The opening also marked the transfer of the management of the facilities from the team of Bottisham Swimming Pool Association Trustees to the governing body of Bottisham Village College.
