Artists, crafts people and traders in antiques and collectables are being invited to have a stall on Newmarket’s market later this month as part of an Easter family fun day.
The crafts and collectables stalls on Saturday April 19, are a new venture for the market. There will also be entertainment for younger visitors, including a mini farm, face painting and a free fairground ride when people buy items from the market. And customers buying eggs from the Wickhambrook egg stall will get a free chocolate one.
Forest Heath councillor David Bowman who has responsibility for markets, said: “Newmarket market has a loyal following of people who like to buy their fruit, vegetables, meat and fish there, particularly the produce which is locally grown.
“The crafts and collectables stalls should attract new customers who will enjoy looking for interesting items, but will also discover what else the market has to offer.”
