Regulars at the New Astley Club in Newmarket have been getting to grips with a new name calling in last orders.
In recent days, members at the Fred Archer Way club have been listening to the tones of Paul Burling following his appointment earlier this month as bar and events manager.
Prior to taking on his role at the New Astley Club, the 42 year old from Fulbourn has worked in a similar position for both Cambridge City FC and Histon FC, and at The Hawks’ Club , a social club for elite sportsmen at Cambridge University.
“My background is in catering and hospitality and my passion is horse racing so the job is a great opportunity to combine the two,” said Mr Burling.
“With the re-launch of the club later this year it looks to be the start of an exciting adventure.”
Although only just settling into his new role, Mr Burling, who has two children, has already outlined some of things he is keen to promote in the coming months.
“There is nothing set in stone yet but with my music contacts in Cambridge I hope to be able to put on some Motown and Northern Soul music nights in the near future,” said Mr Burling.
“I really am looking forward to the challenge ahead in helping develop the club.”
