More light is thrown on life of mystery man
A MAN piecing together the life of a former Newmarket resident is one step closer to solving the mystery after visiting the town.
Tom Fulep has been appealing for information from Newmarket residents on a man called Brian Crisswell, after discovering a discarded briefcase containing hundreds of pictures and memories of his life.
The BBC has expressed an interest in making a documentary of the quest, which has taken over Mr Fulep's life since he started the campaign at the end of January.
Following a successful trip to Newmarket last week Mr Fulep, who lives in Derby, has discovered even more fascinating details on Mr Crisswell.
"I have spoken two more former employees of Crisswell's garage and visited his old house on Falmouth Avenue, where I put a note through the door," he said.
"I also found Mr Crisswell's fathers grave in Newmarket cemetery. His full name was Charles Horace and he was a draper in the town but we still have no information on that area."
During his visit, Mr Fulep was also invited to give a talk about his quest to members of Newmarket Historical Society.
Mr Fulep is currently writing a book on the discovery, entitled The Man In The Briefcase, which he hopes to get published.
"I have written 20 thousand words so far," he said.
"I have tracked down Mr Crisswell's great nephew Matthew Sidebottom on the internet and spoken on the phone to his nephews Steven and Peter.
"They will be the ultimate owners of the briefcase as they are his only living blood relatives."
