A Mildenhall man charged with producing cannabis has failed in a bid to get bail.

Michael Shrigley, 31, of Lapwing Court, appeared at Ipswich Crown Court on Christmas Eve where the court heard he had been on remand in prison since his arrest.

He is also charged with
burglary at a house in
Culford, near Bury St Edmunds, on February 10, when a motorcycle and a quad bike were taken, and burglary at a house in Stoke Ferry the next day when two inflatable canoes and a mountain bike were taken.

After hearing submissions from Jonathan Goodman,
representing Shrigley, and Hugh Vass, for the Crown Prosecution Service, Judge Rupert Overbury refused to grant Shrigley bail ordering him to remain in custody until his next court appearance on a date to be fixed for a plea
and case management hearing.
