A Burwell businessman accused of illegally exporting valves to Iran and Hong Kong, has appeared for the first time at the City of London Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, November 28.
Fifty-three-year-old Gary Summerskill, of High Street, Burwell, a graduate in manufacturing and production, has been summonsed along with his Soham-based company, Delta Pacific Manufacturing Ltd, of which he is managing directors and which is based in the town’s Broad Piece.
Both were sent to the Old Bailey for a preliminary hearing on Monday December 16, with Summerskill granted unconditional bail.
Summerskill and the company both face two summonses of fraudulently evading a prohibition or restriction on the export of goods, namely specified alloy valves, from the UK to Iran. They also both face an identical summons relating to exportation to Hong Kong.
