A man from Nottingham has been charged following an attempted burglary in Mildenhall.
The incident took place between 5.15pm and 5.30pm on Thursday at an address in Milden Court.
A man purporting to be a door-to-door salesman was disturbed inside the property of the vulnerable victim, at which point he left empty-handed.
Following a search of the local area by police officers, two men were arrested in connection with this incident and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre (PIC).
26-year-old Daniel West, of Hervey Green, Nottingham, was subsequently charged with burglary with intent to steal and also for acting as a pedlar without a pedlar’s certificate.
West was remanded at Bury PIC and appeared at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
The second man arrested was Christopher Waldram, aged 33 years-old, of Killerton Green, Nottingham. He was charged with acting as a pedlar without a pedlar’s certificate and has been bailed to appear at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court on Friday, April 4.
