Man, 40, attacked in street robbery

Police are hunting three robbers who attacked a 40-year-old man in Newmarket on Saturday and stole his wallet.

The incident happened as the victim was walking along Valley Way between 11.20pm and 11.37pm.

As the three men approached him, two of them shoulder-barged him before walking on. The third man then asked him what his problem was and threw a can at him, which he managed to avoid.

One of the men then punched him in the face and he fell to the ground where he was repeatedly kicked and punched. The men stole his wallet containing cash and cards before running off leaving their victim with a swollen and bruised face and eye.

The robbers were white, one was short, less than 5ft 7ins tall, and one wore a white sweatshirt or jumper.
