Lee denies claim he took
Viagra before alleged rape

Former world speedway champion Michael Lee started giving evidence at his rape trial on Tuesday.

Lee, 55, told Ipswich Crown Court that his work had left him so exhausted that he could not continue the “adventurous” sex life he had once enjoyed.

He described how he had purchased erectile dysfunctional drugs online because he found it embarrassing to discuss the issue with his own GP.

Lee told the jury that claims by the alleged rape victim that he took Viagra immediately before having anal sex with her were “impossible.”

“I would have had to wait for at least half an hour or 45 minutes and he denied ever having anal sex with the woman without her full consent. He said the last time they had anal sex was at a hotel in London in 2010.

The court has heard allegations that Lee, of Freckenham Road, Worlington, near Mildenhall, assaulted a woman in a toilet causing her actual bodily harm and then raped her in December 2012.

He is also accused of twice sexually assaulting another woman at a speedway end of season awards celebration at the Worlington Hall Hotel in November 2011 when he is alleged to have put his hand up her dress.

The trial continues.
