Karting fun in memory of Liam
Liam's brother, Callum, his mum, Sarah, dad Mark and Alison Ramsay, fundraising manager from CLIC.
Teams of fundraisers took part in an annual karting competition in memory of inspirational Soham fundraiser Liam Fairhurst on Sunday.
Nearly 20 teams entered the event, launched in 2010 to mark Liam’s birthday and raise money for CLIC Sargent, which supported the Soham Village College pupil and his family during his four-year battle with cancer.
He died in 2009, aged just 14, after raising more than £320,000 for the charity.
Challenge 18 was held just a few days before what would have been his 18th birthday.
Dad Mark Fairhurst said he hoped the event, where teams of between two and six people, including Liam’s brother, Callum, took to the track at Red Lodge Karting and battled it out for the Liam’s Smile Trophy, would raise about £5,000.
