Join in the debate over a Vision for our town and here

People interested in helping make Newmarket a better place in which to live and work are invited to take part in a conference outlining a Vision for the town.

Staged at the Memorial Hall between 9.15 and 12.15pm on September 19 a key note speaker will be Howard Lay, executive principal of Newmarket Academy who will outline his vision for the academy and education across the town.

Chris Garibaldi, director of Palace House National Heritage Centre for Horseracing and Sporting Art will also outline his plans for a project to help regenerate the town centre.

The Newmarket Vision is a comprehensive look at the town’s future - education, retail, tourism, traffic, highways and community facilities.

Newmarket Town Mayor Cllr Rachel Hood said: “It is important that out residents share in the vision for the town. Newmarket is unique. It is the historical home of horseracing. It deserves greater recognition.”

The public will be invited to put questions to the Vision Steering committee. Entry is free and places can be booked by email to christine.rush@westsuffolk.gov.uk or phone 01284 757611.
