Jockey gets caution for failing test
FLAT jockey Ahmed Atjebi has escaped with a caution after failing a random alcohol test.
The Newmarket-based rider was found in breach of Rule 65 of the Rules of Racing at a British Horseracing Authority disciplinary hearing on Thursday.
Atjebi was found guilty by the panel after failing a urine test taken during racing at Beverley on September 20.
His sample showed a reading of 57mg in 100ml, with the legal limit being 54mg.
As a result of it being Atjebi’s first offence, and his reading falling into the lower level of punishments, he was issued a caution.
The panel warned Atjebi that should he breach the caution within the next 24 months he would face a lengthy suspension.
