Children in Burrough Green have been having plenty of fun exploring a new playground in the village.
The play area, which can be found on the village green, off Bradley Road, was finally completed last month after a two-year-long project run by a committee of residents and members of Burrough Green Parish Council.
The committee won a £20,000 grant from waste management company Amy Cespa with a condition that members provided 10 per cent of the total, which they collected during a fundraising football tournament.
Youngsters can now play on the fantastic facility which includes swings, a springer and a two-tier fort structure with slides, bridges and climbing nets.
Mark Penhaligan, chairman of the committee, said: “It has taken about two years from start to finish so it has been was quite a long process.
“Burrough Green is a small village but there are lots of families with young children so it will be well used.
“At the official opening there were about 40 children waiting behind the ribbons to dive in and have a go on the equipment.”
