IN PICTURES: A little help goes a long way as fair raises £1,200

AROUND £1,200 was raised at a Mildenhall residential care home following its annual Christmas fair.

The funds will be used to buy gifts for the elderly residents of Wamil Court and contribute towards outings, entertainment and other events.

The fair, the court's main fundraiser of the year, featured a teddy tombola, mystery gift tombola, stalls, Santa's grotto and bric-a-brac stalls.

"We were very pleased with it and with the results," said team leader June Austin.

"It just shows that with a small amount of effort from a small number of people and with a lot of planning we can raise a large amount of money."
