Market stall events to discuss healthcare in West Suffolk will be held in Newmarket and Mildenhall over the next two weeks.
The NHS West Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) will host events at Mildenhall’s Market Place from 8.30am to 3.30pm on Friday, August 30, and at The Guineas shopping centre car park from 8.30am to 3.30pm on Tuesday, September 3.
Visitors will be able to find out more about local healthcare services, get healthy living advice from LiveWell Suffolk and talk to staff from Suffolk Community Healthcare, Healthwatch Suffolk and Age UK Suffolk.
Jo Finn, patient and public engagement lay member of the NHS West Suffolk CCG said: “One of the main priorities of the CCG is to talk with the people we serve so we know how future healthcare services should be shaped to meet local needs.
“These market stall events are a great way to talk with people and listen to their ideas. We have been told that we will hear more views if we come to meet people locally in addition to the other ways we have set up to hear what our public say, like our patient revolution conferences.”
She added: “There will be CCG staff at each event, so there will be plenty of opportunity for people to find out what we do and how to get involved.”
The events have been organised by the CCG, which will have representatives on-hand to discuss the planning and purchasing of health services for local people.
There will be tips on how to prevent falls and fractures, advice on healthy eating and how to quit smoking, plus the chance to pick up some health-related freebies.
