Aspiring sports people were united for a day as Newmarket’s inaugural Total Health event brought together clubs and fitness groups.
Over a hundred people were encouraged to take up exercise, get healthy and stay injury-free at the Saturday event at Newmarket Memorial Hall organised by Mehdi Otmann of KPO Osteopath and Sports Injury Clinic in Fordham Road, Snailwell.
Zumba performances, exercise group Hour of Power East Anglia and Just Jhoom! bollywood dance caught visitors’ attention while Combat Kickboxing Academy members patrolled the High Street to encourage people to come to the fair.
Speaking on behalf of the organisers, Trudy Kent said: “People had a chance to go and speak to the different clubs to see what to expect if they joined, what’s involved and costs. It gave people the whole perspective under one roof.
“It was our goal to bring together people who they can work with. No one would have left empty handed so hopefully the aim of getting people more fit and healthy was achieved. From what was a small idea that Mehdi came up with, it was a brilliant end result.”
