Headteacher ‘delighted’ with latest Ofsted rating
West Row Primary School celebrate a good Ofsted, including Geraldine Ciantar, headteacher.
Staff and pupils at West Row Primary School are celebrating their latest rating from Government inspectors.
The Beeches Road school was given an overall rating of “good” by Ofsted, the office for standards in education, an improvement from its previous rating of “satisfactory”.
An inspectors’ report praised the “outstanding” behaviour and safety of pupils.
The report said: “Pupils behave outstandingly well. They care for and help each other and know how to stay safe.”
The leadership from headteacher Geraldine Ciantar, deputy headteacher Stacey Kendall and teachers of English and maths was credited for the rising standards at the school.
Mrs Ciantar said: “It’s absolutely brilliant and everyone is delighted. It’s nice to know that our hard work has paid off.
“The children did really well. They have applied themselves and we are proud.”
Inspectors advised the school to improve its achievement in writing to be able to reach an “outstanding” rating, the highest given by Ofsted.
