Dignitaries from various sections of the community joined together in Mildenhall on Wednesday to unveil the town’s branch of the Royal British Legion’s new standard.

Around 90 people, including Forest Heath District Council vice-chairman Chris Barker, RAF Honington wing commander Simon Openshaw and Suffolk deputy Lord Lieutenant Robin Upton, attended the event which was held at St Mary’s Church.

The new standard will be paraded at commemorative events throughout the year including at Remembrance Day, in November and at the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Day race day at Newmarket’s July Course in August.
