Greg’s ready for marathon challenge
Greg Davis from Newmarket will run in the London Marathon for NASS.
A runner from Newmarket is in training to take part in his fifth London Marathon in April, which he hopes to conquer in under three hours.
Greg Davis, 50, of Lisburn Road, who achieved the feat once before in 1991, is asking anyone who sponsors him to double their money if he successfully completes the challenge.
Money raised will be donated to the National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society (NASS), a charity that helps people diagnosed with the degenerative disease, which mainly affects the spine.
Greg decided to raise money for NASS after his brother, Howard, was diagnosed.
He said: “Howard has suffered with it for a few years, but he didn’t know much about it. Thousands of others have AS and your donations would be a great help to them.”
Greg, a horse box driver for Godolpin, is a member of the Newmarket Joggers and will be running in his blue club vest.
He takes part in various road races and cross country throughout the year.
