Gareth Godfrey has been named Newmarket Rugby Club’s clubman of the year.
He was presented with a special trophy which is given in memory of club member, Iain King, who died in February 1998 aged just 21.
Making the presentation were Iain’s parents, Nigel and Marilyn King, who donated the trophy to the club in their son’s memory, together with their daughter Rachel and her husband Keir.
It is presented annually to the individual who club members deem to have gone ‘the extra mile’ in supporting the club over the season. The family are pictured here with Gareth, centre, Mike Reeve a member of the club’s first team, left and club chairman, John Adams.
