Newmarket Leisure Centre will be hosting the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Swimathon on Saturday.
More than 30 individual and team swimmers are expected to participate in the event swimming distances of between just over a kilometre to five kilometres. The event starts at 6pm.
Alan Carter, Newmarket’s centre manager, said: “The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Swimathon is a fantastic way to bring our community together, while providing ample opportunity to get fit and healthy in the pool.”
The swimathon is the UK’s biggest fundraising swimming event with some 600 pools across the country, including the Aquatics Centre in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, taking part.
Participants must register before the day at www.swimathon.org and be at the pool at 5.30pm for a 6pm start.
To enter costs £11 per adults, £6 concession, £25 for a team or £25 for a team concession.
