Organisers of a charity fun day and craft fair which is to take place in Lakenheath on Sunday are hoping they can raise more than a £1,000 for their chosen charity.
The inaugural event, which is raising money for the Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust, is to take place at Lakenheath Pavilion from 11am onwards.
“We decided to raise money for the trust as they have done a lot of work to help people with cancer and most people you talk to knows somebody effected by the disease,” said Tracy Whitehand, co-organiser.
“One of my friends who wanted to get involved put the event on Facebook and since then the whole thing has just gone crazy.”
More than 20 craft stalls selling goods ranging from chocolate to jewellery have confirmed their attendance at the event, while a host of activities for younger visitors, including a bouncy castle and and fair ground rides, have also been pencilled in for the day.
Two raffles will also be held throughout the event with one carrying a top prize of a helicopter ride.
“We have been overwhelmed by the donations we have received for both the raffle and items for a second hand stall,” said Tracy.
“I would be thrilled if we can raise a £1000 on the day. All we are now keeping our fingers crossed for is good weather.”
