Long serving stud worker Roy Gedge has been recognised for his years of hard work and dedication by those closest to him.
Friends, family and former colleagues gathered at the Pack Horse Inn in Moulton at the end of last month, to celebrate the 47 years of service Mr Gedge gave to Hascombe and Valiant Stud.
The avid Norwich City fan, who picked up the Stud Staff prize at the 2010 Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff awards, announced his retirement from his role at the Cheveley based stud back in December.
During his time at the stud, which began in February 1966, Mr Gedge helped bring into the world numerous Group One and Classic winners including 2005 2000 Guineas winner Footstepsinthesand, and 1982 1000 Guineas heroine On The House.
Following a speech carried out by his former boss and stud owner Anthony Oppenheimer, Mr Gedge was presented with a bust of Eclipse.
